I'm currently dividing my time between my own family, our son's school, care for my mother, managing apartments in Amsterdam etc. I really hope to get back to doing professional photo work soon.
Since I'm too busy for photography right now and you might have come here just to get to know a bit more about me, here's a simplified overview of things from my life:
Primary school and part of secondary school in the Netherlands
International school in Switzerland (American high school, 4 years)
Architecture in Haarlem (HTS) ('87)
Haarlem: about 15 different jobs through a job agency
Germany: (obligatory) military service ('88)
Courses in advertising and marketing (Brugopleiding reclame, NIMA-A en NIMA-B) ('90/'91/'92)
Amsterdam: college for marketing, public relations, advertising, journalism and photo-journalism (hbo communicatie) ('93 - '97)
Friesland: fixing an old sailing boat and preparing it for its trip around the world ('97)
Spain: (realisation that this is where the journey has ended and consequently:) work in bars and restaurants, gym, beach and nightlife
Brasil, hippy colony: selling sandwiches on the beach
Haarlem: work in bars and restaurants ('99)
Purchase of an apartment and rented it out to a friend
Haarlem: working as an independent contractor doing corporate design and design of websites (2000)
Brasil: study of Portuguese
Amsterdam: design, teaching Photoshop and working in a in a Spanish tapas bar ('02/'03)
Spain: teaching Photoshop, setting up and running an Apple store (APR) ('04/'05/'06)
Amsterdam: purchase, redecoration and styling of apartment ('07/'08)

After moving here (check out the view), I started to rent out the other apartment (centre of Amsterdam, ‘08/’08).
After the tenant had finally left, I redecorated the apartment that I had bought in 1999 with help of a friend and rented that out for a more reasonable price.
